font-style: italic;"&gt;En  el año 1674 a la edad de 15 años,su madre, por entonces viuda,decidió  enviarle a la Villa de Bilbao para aprender el oficio de carpintero, en la que permaneció hasta la víspera de San Juan del año 1764.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:courier new;"&gt;Ese día fue a bañarse junto con otros compañeros a la ría, los&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;cuales presenciaron como se alejaba nadando en dirección al mar para no regresar&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;Ante tal acontecimiento y pasado el tiempo le dieron por muerto.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;Sería cinco años más tarde, cuando unos pescadores de Cádiz divisaron lo que parecía una figura humana que nadaba y desaparecía en el agua al acercarse&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;De regreso a tierra, comentaron lo sucedido y decidieron capturarle con la finalidad de averiguar de que extraño ser se trataba.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;De regreso al lugar del encuentro y utilizando trozos de pan como cebo presenciaron como aquella criatura aparecía nuevamente cogiéndolos con sus manos. Mediante un sistema de redes consiguieron capturarle. Pudieron comprobar que se trataba de un ser humano bien formado, de unos seis pies de altura y cabello corto rojo&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;               &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;  Lo trasladaron a un convento de la ciudad. Tras varios días sin hablar, pronunció la palabra "Liérganes" que nadie sabía lo que significaba.Casualmente, un mozo de dicha localidad que por aquel entonces se encontraba trabajando en Cádiz, aclaró el significado.Tras pedir información a dicha localidad, el único caso de desaparición conocida era el de Francisco de La Vega. Como es lógico, se dio por echo que no se podía tratar de dicha persona y con el propósito de averiguar su verdadera  identidad se decidió  trasladarle a la misma, siendo reconocido por su familia.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;                  Su comporta miento tras el regreso era extraño. Pronunciaba pocas palabras sin aparente coherencia, carecía de emociones, comía en exceso varios días y permanecía posteriormente varios en ayuno. Tenía un gran sentido de la puntualidad, cuando le encomendaban hacer recados. Según se cuenta, en una ocasión le encargaron llevar una carta a la ciudad de Santander, al llegar a la localidad de Pedreña y no encontrar una lancha disponible para realizar la travesía de la bahía, decidió hacerlo nadando apareciendo en el muelle de la ciudad con la ropa mojada , descalzo, como siempre hacía y con la carta mojada en la mano.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;                    Transcurridos nueve años desde su regreso desapareció sin dejar rastro alguno, convirtiendo dicha desaparición en un misterio.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;                    Hace algunos años, hablando con una persona experta en estudios de este tipo de extraños acontecimientos, me comentó una reciente hipótesis con fundamento científico. Según esta, podría haberse tratado de una persona con una enfermedad consistente en una especie de falta de hidratación o sequedad del cuerpo (desconozco la terminología científica correcta utilizada ) lo que parece podría ser la causa de tener que estar en contacto frecuente con el agua.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;font-family:courier new;" &gt;                    ¿verdad o ficción? Afortunadamente, el trabajo y asuntos personales han sido los motivos de este retraso.&lt;br /&gt;              Ha comenzado un nuevo curso, y particularmente,con nuevos e interesantes proyectos de los que iré  informando en su momento.Pido disculpas a los amigos que con frecuencia visitan estas páginas y espero no drefaudarles.Por cierto, aprovecho para dar la enhorabuena nuevamente a un buen amigo, quién desde tierra adentro, me manifestaba su añoranza por la mar, mientras estaba practicando senderismo por la costa ( mi actividad favorita) acompañado por mi fiel compañera "Mar". Por su parte, me comentaba que tenía que conformarse con leer libros y ver fotos relacionados con la mar. Reconozco que me causó cierto remordimiento, y en parte, ha sido el motivo de publicar nuevamente. Injustamente olvidado, diseñó y patentó el sumergible, efectuando la primera inmersión en Alicante el 4 de Agosto de 1860, junto con su hijo, permaneció sumergido durante 45 minutos. Aunque el "Garcibuzo" fue un éxito y posteriormente sometido a mejoras, el inventor nunca vería recompensado su éxito. Cosme García se trasladó a Madrid teniendo que pedir limosna, tras haber invertido todo cuanto tenía en su invento, falleciendo a los 55 años en el olvido.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5466014820838601122" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 230px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XqP2uEGR028/S9svhPUa8aI/AAAAAAAAAGY/YT5HrDFhaEc/s320/plano+garcibuzo.jpg" border="0" /&gt; &lt;p&gt;Me propusieron relizar una maqueta del "Garcibuzo" basándome en los planos de la patente.Tenía la experiencia de otros "ingenios" submarinos y lo que parece simple acaba siendo de lo más complicado,más aún,cuando hay que reproducir su interior a partir de un dibujo de la época, grabado o simple esquema.Aunque parezca imposible, siempre lleva más tiempo el comprender el sistema de funcionamiento y la supuesta técnica de construcción empleada en la época, que realizar la maqueta. Botado el 30 de Noviembre de 1958, tenía una eslora de 130,22m manga 17,22m desplazamiento 13.280t velocidad 13,7n potencia 4200 caballos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5464907137067483746" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 424px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 196px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XqP2uEGR028/S9dAFjtngmI/AAAAAAAAAGA/qCZdT7AA9vs/s320/Campoverde2.jpg" border="0" /&gt;Estos barcos tenían una cualidades de navegación muy buenas.Como sistemas de navegación el "Campoverde" disponia de un sólo radar y radiogoniometro, carecía de piloto automático lo que implicaba tener timonel en la rueda permanentemente. Fueron 10.000´de navegación entre Candás (Asturias) y Punta Arenas (Chile) después de alcanzar la Isla del Rey Jorge en la Antártida.La expedición capitaneada por Santiago Cañedo, fué la que propició que España entrase a formar parte del Tratado Antártico.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;La goleta de 32m de eslora fué construida en los astilleros Armón de Navia, Asturias.Para la commemoración del 20 aniversario de la expedición, me encargaron realizar una maqueta a escala 1:50 así como una serie de metopas a escala 1:150.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402576434326762226" style="DISPLAY: block;                                             Las tiendas, son algo parecido a balsas salvavidas "que llevan todo lo necesario a bordo para hacer agradable la estancia".Un helicóptero se encarga de llevar diariamente alimentos frescos y la prensa diaria".Cara prensa y caro menú diario,supongo.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;                                             La idea de este caballero me parece magnífica (la imaginación al poder) por otra parte, habrá realizado el oportuno estudio de viabilidad y seguro que será un gran negocio. Lo que no acabo de entender es para que coño quieren la prensa del día, con todos mis respetos me parece una "gilipollez". Como decía "el Gallo" "hay gente pa too".&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;                                               No deja de ser paradójico, cómo muchas personas quedan a la deriva y en soledad intentando llegar a nuestras costas, arriesgando sus vidas para escapar de la miseria y la muerte, encontrándola desgraciadamente en muchos casos, mientras otros pagan "una pasta" por una deriva "de lujo". El resultado fué de 15 víctimas mortales, 5 barcos hundidos, 24 abandonados y casi la totalidad dañados. La idea surgió, al ver una película hace años, donde aparecía un pteranodón RC. Algún tiempo después, pude saber que lo había realizado un aeromodelista alemán para dicha pelicula. Pasó el tiempo, hasta que un dia decidí ponerme manos a la obra y comencé el diseño, nada fácil, ya que no se trataba de un avión y no tenía ninguna referencia. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;Lo primero fué hacer un modelo, posteriormente, realizar moldes y finalmente realizar las piezas resina epóxica, fibra de vidrio,carbono/kevlar. Otras piezas fueron hechas en latex.Las alas huecas en estructura de balsa y reforzadas con carbono, finalmente recubiertas y decoradas con aerógrafo.Los ensayos de vuelo fueron un fracaso, el cálculo del centro de gravedad era erróneo y no se pueden emplear cálculos convencionales.Tras numerosos cambios, por fin,llegó a realizar su primer vuelo de ladera. Rápido, inestable, entradas en pérdida muy acusadas...&lt;em&gt;adrenalinico, &lt;/em&gt;pero compensado ampliamente por su realismo y espectacularidad en vuelo. Le insistía una joven a su acompañente.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;A estos comentarios les sucedieron otros similares, hasta que le ví...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;Tendría unos cuarenta años, bajito y regordete, de tez morena, con un espeso bigote negro que contrastaba con su calvicie, unas gafillas de montura plateada le daban un toque entre intelectual y despistado.Caminaba muy erguido y su rostro reflejaba orgullo y satisfacción.Su aspecto me resultaba simpático, vestido con sandalias romanas de cuero y calcetines blancos, pantalón de tela color caqui y camisa de manga corta blanca, por fuera del pantalón, que su barriguilla hacía sobresalir.Una bandolera de polipiel marrón oscuro completaba el atuendo.Le acompañaban dos niños, uno de cada mano, un paso por detrás, dos mujeres,una joven y la otra de edad avanzada, caminaban juntas en silencio.Una vez llegaron, donde estaba el barco, se pararon para contemplarlo...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;- "¿Para qué sirve ese hierro?" , preguntó el niño&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;- "Ahí se amarran las cuerdas para que no se lo lleve la corriente", respondió el hombrecillo&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;- "¡Ah!"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;- "¿Y eso redondo que tiene un palo y una bandera?"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;- "Bueno, eso es para en el agua, saber dónde están los peces que han pescado"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;Las preguntas y respuestas se sucedian...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;Mientras, algunas personas se habían parado, para disimuladamente, escuchar sus respuestas, entre ellas, una mujer con un niño algo inquieto a quién instaba: "Escucha al señor",&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;¡Que curioso!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"¿Qué son esos cajones de ahí?", preguntó, en esta ocasión, la niña que le acompañaba (señalando los clasificadores de pescado sobre cubierta)&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;Noté, cómo el hombrecillo miraba disimuladamente a ambos lados y comprobaba el auditorio que seguía en aumento.Con su brazo ligeramente levantado y el dedo índice apuntando hacia arriba respondió a la pregunta...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"Presumo, que son para echar agua y guardar pececillos vivos para usarles como cebo"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"Y ¿el agua no se escapa entre las maderas?"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"No, porque para eso se tapan"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"¿Con qué?"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"Bueno, pues con telas o &lt;em&gt;masilla&lt;/em&gt;"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"¿Cómo puede flotar un barco tan grande con lo que pesa?"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;-"Bueno, pues...verás,eso es...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;El hombrecillo, junto con sus acompañantes, se abrió paso precipitadamente entre los congregados abandonando el lugar, mientras estos se quedaban mirándole ansiosamente esperando la respuesta.Arquimedes seguía siendo el "top" del puerto. Las especulaciones y controversias sobre el naufragio, las apariciones periódicas de nuevas teorías y hallazgos, libros, películas...contribuyen, sospechosamente, a que su memoria permanezca viva.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;En 1997, estaba trabajando en la dotación de fondos del nuevo Museo Marítimo de Asturias, entonces, su director, me comentó que eran numerosos los visitantes que según entraban preguntaban por el "Titanic". "Hay que hacer algo", "Piensa en algo". Lo primero fué documentarme todo cuanto pude, proceso que duró casi un año de manera discontinua Pese a los conocimentos adquiridos, no me considero capacitado para emitir una opinión respecto si fué posible evitar la colisión, aunque, si afirmar, que la pérdida de vidas no debería haber sido tan elevada.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5396997281660549026" style="DISPLAY: block;
